WhiteBlack Project

It all starts with a blank sheet of paper, a white beam of light, or the alphabet. All three encompass all possibilities. The blank sheet of paper holds all possible drawings and shapes. The beam of light contains all colors, and the alphabet holds all narratives, idea sketches, manifestos, and political theories. To create colors from the white beam of light, one needs a prism. To express emotions in shapes on a sheet of paper, one needs a pen. To generate words and sentences, theories and narratives, it requires the composition of individual letters from the alphabet.

The Whiteblack Project focuses on the art of capturing forms and bringing them to life through both traditional drawing techniques and photography. It’s a creative endeavor that combines the precision of a pencil with the visual storytelling power of a camera. By merging these two mediums, the project aims to showcase the beauty and depth of the subjects in a unique and captivating way.

WHITEBLACK: FACE off

Human faces are masks. They conceal the emotions that we humans harbor towards others, both positive and negative. Facial expressions are the language through which we convey these emotions, the language that allows us to lie or tell the truth. At the same time, facial expressions and gestures, like any other language, are tools of conscious and unconscious deception and misunderstanding.

Only in a duel situation, either executed with weapons or word, the mask is off which is fairly expressed in the phrase „face off“.

GERMAN: Menschliche Gesichter sind Masken, können Masken sein, können manchmal auch keine Masken sein. Gesichter sind die Mittel der Täuschung des Gegenübers, die Waffen in einem Duell.

Black Widow

Black is the beginning of all life. Black is the universe, at least to our naked eye. From black, all life emerges, unless it later emerges from water. Black and white are the colors from which all other colors arise (in chromatic color theory), especially from white when considering the mixing of light. The Black Widow is therefore something like the opposite, the absolute darkness, for which Anish Kapoor has filed a patent.

GERMAN: Schwarz ist die Nacht. Schwarz ist der Weltraum. Zumindest fast. Eigentlich gar nicht, wenn man genau hinsieht.

The Political Argument Project

Political debates are characterized by more than just discussions between private individuals; they have a theatrical aspect. Political actors behave like magicians, pretending one reality while living another. The central element of political confrontations is the “claque,” the applause-givers, whom the arguments do not target because they are already factored into the political discourse. The claque is part of the staging, as political disputes are always a form of theater.

GERMAN: Jede politische Debatte ist eine Form des Theaters. Die Schauspieler sind die Akteure, die Diskutanten und natürlich ist der Chor das Publikum.

Political art always looks the same whether it’s left-wing or right wing inspired. The sculptures of Nazi sculptor Arno Breker, the statues of heroes of the communist revolution, Lenin, Stalin, Marx, Engels.

Even the art works of the so called catholic realism of the 20. Century, the paintings or sculptures of ponfexes, bishops, saints- all are nothing else than bad copies of Ancient Greek sculptors with a little ingredients of brute and bad taste.

Believe it or die!

The foundation of politics is either a broad political orientation such as that of liberal or conservative politicians based on certain principles, such as the belief in the importance of freedom in society or the individual’s self-responsibility.
Alternatively, there may be an elaborated political theory primarily embraced by left-wing or green politicians. Examples include the communist theory of Karl Marx and others, as well as woke theories that advocate for the necessity of inclusion of various societal minority groups or the addressing of colonial past.

GERMAN:

Das Fundament von Politik ist entweder eine grobe politische Ausrichtung wie die liberaler oder konservativer Politiker an bestimmten Grundsätzen, z.B. dem Glauben an die Bedeutung von Freiheit in der Gesellschaft oder der Eigenverantwortung des Individuums.

Oder es gibt eine ausgearbeitete politische Theorie, auf die sich überwiegend linke oder grüne Politiker berufen. Hier wäre die kommunistische Theorie von Karl Marx und anderen zu nennen, aber auch woke Theorien, die von der Notwendigkeit der Inklusion verschiedener gesellschaftlicher Splittergruppe oder der Aufarbeitung der kolonialen Vergangenheit ausgehen.

Echo Chamber

Every politician’s speech, every gesture, every facial expression, gesture, and visual sign (sweating, teeth grinding) becomes a comment on the political theory, ideology they represent, positively or negatively, within the echo chamber of social media. In this way, absurd political approaches can be criticized and those aligned with common sense can be devalued, without necessarily doing justice to their approach in any way.

Echo chambers are indeed spaces where social groups negotiate their self-perception. Initially, this should be seen as a neutral phenomenon, perhaps even a necessity. However, due to the amplified language spaces created by algorithms in social media, echo chambers gain more significance, as they lack permeability to other echo chambers of different groups.

GERMAN: Jedes Poliker´s Rede, jede Mimik, Gestik, jedes visuelle Zeichen (Schwitzen, Zähneknirschen etc.) wird in der Echo Kammer der Sozialen Medien zu einem Kommentar auf die politische Theorie, die Ideologie, die er vertritt, positiv oder negativ. Auf diese Weisen können absurde politische Ansätze auf- und dem gesunden Menschenverstand entsprechende abgewertet werden, ohne dass dies ihrem wie auch immer gearteten Ansatz gerecht wird.

Echo Kammer sind aber Plätze, an denen gesellschaftliche Gruppen ihr Selbstverständnis verhandeln. Zunächst einmal ist das neutral zu sehen, vielleicht sogar ein „Muss“. Aber durch die von Algorithmen verstärkten Sprachräume der sozialen Medien bekommen Echo Kammern ein größeres Gewicht, da die Durchlässigkeit zu anderen Echo Kammern anderer Gruppen fehlt.

THE COMPASS ROSE + THE BRAIN

Political directions are categorized as right or left, with a spectrum in between. Today, with the emergence of the Woke movement, feminism, and the Green Party, among others, there are additional directions that are not as easily classified, although many tend to lean left.

Perhaps the multitude of political ideas and ideologies can be represented well by the different cardinal directions or by the individual regions of the brain, the right or left hemisphere, which are characterized for rationality (left hemisphere) and creativity (right hemisphere). Of course, this is an oversimplification, as the brain has several areas dedicated to different tasks, which are interconnected and learn from each other.

Continuing this line of thought, according to the geographical distribution of individual political concepts, socialism with its variants such as Stalinism or Leninism, as well as fascism as its opposite concept, would be more likely located in the East, while conservatism, liberalism, the woke ideology, and feminism would come more from the West.

If we now overlay the compass rose with the brain to be considered, with the frontal lobe pointing north of the compass rose, the political concepts with a developed and formulated ideology are located on the left hemisphere, determined by reason and other rational abilities (Marxism, Leninism, Stalinism, fascism), while the rather vague political ideas are on the right, dominated by creativity.

The processing of audiovisual and tactical impressions, as well as influences of intuition and creativity, are central to the activity of the human brain and thus the interaction between ideologies and rather vaguely formulated political concepts, which are more tied to the progress of thinking, such as English-style liberalism.

If the left-leaning orientation were to remain decisive, as it was during the late 19th and through the 20th century into the early 21st century, this contradicts all findings of neurophysiology, which presuppose an exchange of both cerebral hemispheres for normal human development.

Politische Richtungen werden nach rechts oder links eingeteilt und einem Spektrum dazwischen. Heute kommen mit der Woken Bewegung, dem Feminismus und der Grünen Political weitere Richtungen hinzu, die nicht mehr so einfach einzuordnen sind, obwohl viele meistens links ticken.
Vielleicht läßt sich die Vielzahl politischer Ideen und Ideologien durch die verschiedenen Himmelsrichtungen gut repräsentieren oder durch die einzelnen Hirnregionen, die rechte oder linke Gehirnhälfte, die für Rationalität (linke Gehirnhälfte) und Kreativität gekennzeichnet werden (rechte Gehirnhälfte). Natürlich ist das eine unzulässige Vereinfachung, weil das Großhirn mehrere, unterschiedlichen Aufgaben gewidmete Areale besitzt, die untereinander vernetzt sind und voneinander lernen.

Trotzdem weitergedacht wären entsprechend der geographischen Verbreitung einzelner politischer Konzepte Sozialismus mit seinen Spielformen wie Stalinismus oder Leninismus, aber auch Faschismus als gegenteiliges Konzept eher im Osten zu verorten, während Konservativismus und Liberalismus, die woke Ideologie wie auch der Feminismus eher aus dem Westen kommen.

Legt man nun über die Windrose das zu betrachtende Großhirn mit dem Frontallappen Richtung Norden der Windrose, so befinden sich die politischen Konzepte mit einer ausgearbeiteten und formulierten Ideologie auf dem linken, von Vernunft und anderen rationalen Fähigkeiten bestimmten Gehirnhälfte (Marxismus, Lenismus, Stalinismus, Faschismus) und die eher vagen politischen Ideen auf der rechten, der von der Kreativität dominierten Gehirnhälfte.

Die Verarbeitung von audiovisuellen und Taktiken Eindrücken sowie Einflüssen von Intuition und Kreativität sind zentral für die Tätigkeit des menschlichen Hirns und damit die Interaktion zwischen Ideologien und eher an den Fortschritt des Denkens gebundenen eher vag formulierten politischen Konzepten wie dem Liberalismus englischer Prägung.

Sollte die linke Verortung ausschlaggebend bleiben, wie sie während des späten 19. und durch das 20. bis ins frühe 21. Jahrhundert bestimmend war, so widerspricht das allen Erkenntnissen der Neurophysiologie, die einen Austausch beider Großhirnrinden voraussetzt für eine normale Entwicklung des Menschen.

The Polical Argument: Peace Talks

Peace talks. Everyone wants them. Everyone longs for them. But there are always losers. Those who lost their limbs in war. Those who left their loved ones behind in war. Those who carry the war in their souls until the end of their lives, and those who pass the war on to their loved ones. The war is only over when the last of the war generation has died. The war is only over when the war generation has died. The war is only over when the last ones who had anything to do with the war in any way are dead. So, the war does not end with the peace talks, but with the last dead who were directly or indirectly involved with it. Long live the war!

GERMAN: Friedensgespräche. Jeder will sie. Jeder sehnt sich nach ihnen. Aber immer gibt es Verlierer. Die die im Krieg ihre Gliedmaßen verloren haben. Die die im Krieg ihre Angehörigen gelassen haben. Die die den Krieg in ihren Seelen mit sich bis zu ihrem Lebensende tragen und die, die den Krieg an ihre Angehörigen weitergeben. Der Krieg ist erst zu Ende, wenn die letzten Angehörigen der Kriegsgeneration gestorben sind. Der Krieg ist erst zu Ende, wenn die Kriegsgeneration gestorben ist. The National Flags Project

Whenever a new country is formed, whether through separatist movements from an existing one or through a revolution, a new national flag is needed. Or is it the other way around? Is a new country needed when there is a new national flag?

GERMAN: Sobald ein neues Land entsteht, sei es durch Separatistische Bewegungen von einem bestehenden, sei es durch eine Revolution, wird eine neue Nationalflagge benötigt. Oder ist es andersherum? Wird ein neues Land benötigt, wenn es eine neue Nationalflagge gibt?
